It's true, though. In Japan, "I was drunk" is considered an acceptable, all-purpose excuse. I saw a drunken teenager punch a cop in the face recently, and the police just let him walk away without so much as a caution. Madness! Although, the situation does benefit me a lot of the time.. I mean, last year we got pissed, threw some firecrackers at an old broad waiting for the train and laughed and danced while her husband tried to revive her lifeless body (must've had a heart attack or something). Anyway, the police chastised us a bit, but then sent us on way with a deep sigh and a 'shoganai'. I love this country. I love the whole ‘I was drunk, so don’t blame me’ thing here.
